APPLICATION FOR RELIEF BY SOLDIERS MAIMED OR DISABLED DURING THE LATE WAR.The State of Alabama, }

Personally appeared before me, John N. Franklin Judge of Probate, in and for said County, Peter Cooper , who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that when a Pirlet1 in Company B of 6th Regiment of Georga fanlentry2 he was wounded, {loss of left lege3} while in the discharge of his duty, on the 5th day of April 1862 , at York Town in the state of Va ; in consequence of which wound he has been rendered physically incapable of making a livelihood by labor; that he was a resident of the State of Alabama on the 17th day of February, 1885, that he is now a resident of Presink4 19 in Dekalb County, and State of Alabama, and is at present engaged in business as a Farmer ; that he does not own in his own name, nor does his wife own, two thousand dollars worth of property, after deducting the amount of all encumbrances thereon; and that he is entitled to relief under the act "Providing for the Relief of Soldiers Maimed or Disabled during the late war," approved February 17, 1885.
