Southern Muse

Civil War Sites (Northern):
Northern sites can be helpful in southern research and genealogy as well as northern. Northern Civil War regiments fought in the South. The soldiers appear in some southern pensions and many of them lie in graves in the South. Some of the web sites include Confederate regiments as well as Union, and many give histories of the troops' campaigns as they moved through the South. This is my first link, but I hope to add more. This wonderful Michigan site helped me locate a Union soldier who was wounded in Bradley County, Tennessee, and was tended by my Southern, Union-sympathizing great-great grandmother!

Michigan in the War

Southern Muse regularly searches for good sites that fit our Southern theme ~ but, they can't all be southern! For that reason, we've included great history and museum sites, wherever we've found them...
