Murray & Whitfield County

The counties of Murray and Whitfield are located in the mountains of North Georgia. Murray County is known for its beautiful scenery. The Cohutta Wilderness and Fort Mountain State Park are both located in Murray County. Dalton, a small city in Whitfield County, is known as "The Carpet Capital of the World". Whitfield County is also home to Tunnel Hill, a town named after a famous antebellum railroad tunnel. The tunnel has been restored as a historic site.
